The ODMHSAS, the State Department of Education, and the Drug Enforcement Agency are joining with the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame to announce this year’s Red Ribbon Week, October 23rd – October 31st, 2019 by “lighting up the State RED”. The Skydance Bridge in Oklahoma City, Myriad Gardens and the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, among other landmark locations, will light up RED during Red Ribbon Week to commemorate the event. An announcement will be made on or around October 18th.
Red Ribbon Week is a highly recognizable opportunity to unleash the power of prevention, and we need the help of the state’s local substance use prevention system. Please use this organizing opportunity to call attention to local prevention plans by adding to the list of notable structures that will light up red across the state. The structures could be local municipal buildings, businesses, schools, stadiums, or prominent landmarks in your region. You know best what would make an impact!
Please pass this along to anyone you know who may want to light up RED next week for Red Ribbon Week. If you can, please let me know who will be participating, so I can forward it along to ODMHSAS. Thank you all for your support!
